Dear Colleagues,

Greetings from AIIMS,New Delhi!

It gives us immense pleasure to extend a cordial invitation to you all for the “AIIMS Neuroanaesthesia Update 2017” which is being organised by the Department of Neuroanaesthesiology and Critical Care, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, on 6th & 7th October 2017 with a pre-conference workshop on 5th Oct 2017 at Jawahar Lal Auditorium, AIIMS, New Delhi. In addition to this we will also have one and half day “AIIMS Neurological life support” course, which will be conducted post conference on 7th & 8th Oct 2017. This course has previously been conducted at AIIMS, New Delhi and has been quite popular among the young doctors dealing with neurological/ neurosurgical emergencies. The AIIMS Neuroanaesthesia Update, after its first successful launch in 2013, has become a regular event and is being organised for the 5th consecutive year. Like previous years, it has been designed to provide an innovative, up-to-date and comprehensive overview of the latest research and developments in the field of Neuroanaesthesiology and Neurocritical Care. This year the scientific programme includes live-demonstrations of important anaesthetic procedures from the operating room, workshop on transcranial Doppler, micro-dialysis and neurophysiological monitoring, guest lectures, panel discussion, interactive case discussions, pros and cons debate and video session on important anaesthesia and monitoring techniques. Also, there will be Quiz and e-poster session for the residents. Besides all this, ‘AIIMS Neurological life support’ course will be conducted along with this event that has been designed to teach a protocol based approach to a neurosurgical or neurological emergency during the initial hours which is the most critical (golden) hour in the management of these patients and has a major impact on outcome. New Delhi, the capital of India, has a pleasant weather in October, which is also a festive month and the city is all set to celebrate. Many distinguished neuroanaesthesiologists and neurointensivists from various parts of India and abroad will gather to take part in this event. We look forward for your whole hearted participation during the event and assure you of an excellent academic extravaganaza during the AIIMS Neuroanaesthesia Update 2017.
